Rey Magno Teves is a journalist, social development practitioner,
consumer activist, network facilitator, and peace advocate rolled
into one.
Before joining DBP, Mr. Teves was a director of the Land Bank
of the Philippines. He also served as sectoral representative
in the Philippine Congress. He was director of the Philippine
Information Agency in Region 11, and executive director of the
Konsumo Dabaw Foundation for several years.
An active social leader in Mindanao, Mr. Teves spearheaded various
organizations dedicated to promoting peace and progress in the
region. He is a convenor and coordinator of the Mindanao Peace
Advocates' Conference which plays a key role in the peace process
in the area. Among his organizational involvements are the Kusog
Mindanaw, Lihok Pideral-Mindanao, Citizens' Movement for a Federal
Philippines, and the Mindanao Congress of Development non-government
organizations.
Mr. Teves is concurrently managing director of the Technical
Assistance Center for the Development of Rural and Urban Poor.
Mr. Teves is a graduate of the Ateneo de Davao University with
a degree in A.B. English. He also took up Local Development Program
from the University of the Philippines Local Government Center
in 1971.
