Joseph Donato Pangilinan brings with him a solid background
in business development and information technology. He is the
Vice President for business development of Netmarks Philippines,
Inc., one of the fastest growing IT companies in the Tokyo Stock
Exchange. He is also Director of Manila Genesis Entertainment
Management, Corporate Secretary of the education and event management
firm Businessworks, Inc., and a member of the advisory board of
Cooperativa Casaforte, an IT-enabled enterprise development. He
is likewise associated with various groups such as the Export
Development Council, Philippine Exporters Confederation, and the
Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines.
Director Pangilinan was former President and General Manager
of family-owned Manilapearl Corporation, which he helped establish
as an international reseller network of over 50 furniture and
accessories buyers in 23 countries. During the Asian financial
crisis, he reengineered the company to survive the debilitating
lack of working capital, and in the process earned several awards
for product excellence and strategic management locally and abroad.
As former Marketing Director of Lockwell Builders, Inc., a construction
firm involved with overseas manpower development and outsource
contracting, Director Pangilinan helped in the deployment of over
15,000 Filipino construction and electro-mechanical workers and
engineers to Saudi Arabai, Iraq, Libya, Nigeria, and China.
Director Pangilinan is a graduate of the University of the Philippines
with a degree in Industrial Engineering.
