DBP Publishes Travel Guides
June 15, 2010
DBP is stepping up its efforts inpromoting the use of the Road Roll-on, Roll-offCTerminal System (RRTS) or RoRo as a preferred mode of
transportation among foreign and local tourists with its publication of RoRo travel guides.

President & CEO Reynaldo G. David said the RoRo travel guides available in three titles - “Central Highway Traveler,” “Western Highway Traveler”, and “Eastern Highway Traveler” –feature important travel
information such as RoRo routes, accommodations, and tourist attractions located along the Western, Central, and Eastern nautical highways. DBP Publishes Travel Guides to Promote Use of RoRo
Among Tourists

“These travel reference materials will show that traveling to the different parts of the archipelago is now easier and more affordable with the RoRo. The travel guides will also show how the national government has connected the islands through the RRTS which implements the Strong Republic Nautical Highway, one of the more
important legacies of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo,” President
David said.

The RRTS employs the use of RoRo vessels as an affordable means
of getting to the different islands of the country and is one of the major components of DBP’s flagship infrastructure and logistics initiative, the Sustainable Logistics Development Program (SLDP). Each travel guide comes with more than 100 full colored-pages, including a pull-out map showing the various tourist attractions located along the three nautical highways. Seasoned travel writers and photographers lent their talents in highlighting historic landmarks, eco-adventure destinations, local food finds and products in cities and provinces where the nautical highways traverse. There is also a schedule of RoRo trips that will guide tourists in planning their next RoRo adventure.

The travel guides will be distributed for free in selected areas such as ports, bus terminals, coffee shops, airports and resorts.
