President Arroyo Leads 63rd DBP Anniversary Rites
January 25, 2010
DBP commemorates its 63rd anniversary with a special program to be graced by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo today, January 25, 2010, starting at 10 a.m., at the Bulwagan ng Diwang Pilipino, DBP Head Office in Makati City.

The program will underscore the Bank’s contributions in the achievement of the Ten Point Agenda of the Arroyo administration, particularly in four major areas — infrastructure and logistics; social services initiatives such as schools and hospitals; empowerment of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs; and environmental protection.

President & CEO Reynaldo G. David will present DBP’s achievements from 2001 to 2009, as aligned with the priority programs of the Arroyo administration. He will also highlight some of the Bank’s plans to further enhance its developmental role.

Chairman Patricia A. Sto. Tomas, President David, and members of the DBP Board of Directors will also turn over to President Arroyo and Finance Secretary Margarito Teves a ceremonial check representing DBP’s dividend contribution for 2009.

On the same occasion, DBP – together with the Department of Labor and Employment and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration – will present to President Arroyo a Memorandum of Agreement for an integrated OFW assistance program that will make available more livelihood opportunities and health care services for OFWs and their families.

President Arroyo will likewise unveil a scale model of the new DBP Green Building which will soon rise at The Fort Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
