Pangasinan LGU Gets Support for Infra Projects
January 29, 2007
DBP, through its Dagupan Branch, has approved a P65.25-million term loan to support various infrastructure development projects of the municipality of Malasiqui, Pangasinan. These projects will involve the expansion and improvement of the municipality’s public market, solid waste management program, comprehensive drainage system, and inter-departmentalized computerization program.

The projects, which support the municipality’s economic and infrastructure development goals, are expected to generate additional revenues for the local government. These also complement the LGU’s goal of becoming the fifth city in the province of Pangasinan.

The term loan will also support the proposed refinancing of the municipality’s loan from the Municipal Development Fund Office of the Department of Finance that will allow it to save a substantial amount on interest expenses which can be channeled to other development undertakings.
