The DBP Board of Directors has approved a P335 million loan to Isabela City LGU for the construction of four unit district hospitals, school buildings and acquisition of medical equipment and various pre/post harvest mechanized facilities.
The hospital project will be funded under the KfW, the school buildings under DBP funds and Domestic Shipping Modernization Program (DSMP) funds for the SLDP pre/post harvest facilities. These projects were conceptualized by the LGU, under the leadership of Governor Faustino Dy, Jr., to be able to provide better services to and uplift the socio-economic condition of the constituents.
The construction of the hospital buildings in the municipalities of Cabagan, Cauayan, Roxas, and Echague and the acquisition of medical equipment are expected to further hasten the health care services in the area.
To provide quality education, the LGU will construct 96 school buildings (218 classrooms) in the different municipalities of the province.
The acquisition of pre/post harvest farming facilities is in line with the Isabela SLDP/Grains Highway Project. This will be established in a 100-hectare land at the proposed Agro-Industrial Economic Zone in San Luis Cauayan City. It is expected to modernize the corn production and improve efficiency in handling corn in the province. This project likewise aims to improve farmers’ productivity and income, thus upgrading the level and quality of their living condition.
RMO-NEL Head SAVP Edgardo Mejorada Ilagan Branch Head SM Ragsac Baņez expressed optimism that with the implementation of these projects, the quality of life in the province will be further improved.
